WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Indivisible’s co-founder and co-executive director Leah Greenberg issued the following statement on Vice President Kamala Harris’s historic acceptance speech at the 2024 Democratic National Convention:
“Tonight, Kamala Harris delivered a speech that will be remembered as a defining moment in this campaign and in the history of our country. Her words were more than just an address—she laid out a vision for the future. A future where freedom is expanded, not rolled back; where economic prosperity is accessible to all, not just the wealthy few; and where our democracy is unbreakable in the face of MAGA extremism.
“Vice President Harris’s campaign’s power lies within this vision of the future. Her commitment to centering freedom, democracy, and justice has sparked a palpable energy. Her joyful vision has sparked a movement that is growing stronger every day.
“But as Michelle Obama wisely reminded us, enthusiasm alone won’t win this election. We must ‘do something.’ Every day between now and the election, we will organize, mobilize, and fight to ensure Kamala Harris and Democrats up and down the ballot secure a victory that will allow us to build a brighter future.
“The last 4 days of the convention were a clear call to action. We must, and will, rise to the occasion to not only defeat MAGA extremism, but secure a Democratic trifecta that builds the future and advances the freedom this country deserves. Indivisible is ready to do the work—and we’re calling on everyone who believes in this shared vision laid out by the Harris campaign to join us in knocking on doors, connecting with our neighbors, and making sure there is no stone left unturned between now and November. Together, we can and will win.”
