    “Senator Reid made true that any poor kid from Nevada can change people’s lives. That meant a lot to me as a young Nevada Latina who always looked up to him. What a legacy he leaves.

    “He’s our forever champion of everyday people, funny as hell and never afraid to fight for what’s just. He led with grit and clarity — delivered the votes to pass the Affordable Care Act, protected public lands and was a champion of immigrants.

    “I’m grateful to have learned from him and our entire Team Reid. Some of my most beloved friends, mentors and husband are all people I met and learned from while working on his team. His legacy inspires me and so many to stay in the ring to advance a more just democracy. Rest in power, Senator.”
