CALL NOW: Tell Your Republican Senator to Vote NO on Vought
Donald Trump is attempting (another) coup. Despite the White House rescinding the memo announcing an unconstitutional freeze on federal funds, Trump is still working to defund the federal government from the inside – and working with unelected billionaire Elon Musk to do it. Their goal is clear: gut federal agencies, strip public resources, and redirect power and money into their own hands.
And they’re expecting Russell Vought (pronounced like “Vote") – Trump’s nominee to run the Office of Management and Budget – to help them do it. As a reminder: Vought is the architect of Project 2025 who unconstitutionally withheld funds distributed by Congress during Trump’s first term.
Vought’s plans this time around go much further – he intends to staff the government with MAGA sycophants and starve agencies he doesn’t like of congressionally-allocated resources. In fact, he’s refused to testify in any of his confirmation hearings that he would place the Constitution above Trump’s demands – solidifying his allegiance to MAGA over our democracy.
The Senate could vote on Vought’s confirmation in the coming days. We must use the opportunity to stop him from becoming OMB Director, where we know that he will continue to enable Trump’s agenda.
Trump is attempting a coup and Senate Republicans should not be greenlighting his dangerous attempts to shut down the functions of the federal government and hand unchecked power to an unelected billionaire. Stopping Vought’s nomination is the first step to fighting back.

Rescind Russell Vought’s nomination in light of OMB’s unconstitutional funding freeze
Hello, I’m a constituent from [part of state], and I’m calling to tell [Senator] that I’m outraged by the chaos and harm caused by Trump’s funding freeze.
Even though the White House rescinded the original memo, Trump is working with Elon Musk to shut down the functions of our federal government.
And he’s counting on his nominee for OMB Director, Russell Vought, to enable this unconstitutional power grab.
We know that Vought will do just that – he has made it clear in his confirmation hearings that his allegiance is to Trump and not to our Constitution. If he is put in charge of OMB, he will greenlight Trump and Musk’s coup which would cause devastating harm to millions of people in our communities.
Tell [Senator] that they must stand up against Trump’s assault on our democracy. Let them know that I expect them to call for Vought’s nomination to be withdrawn and to vote NO if his confirmation moves forward.
