“We believe survivors. The Senate must reject Kavanaugh.”
Washington, DC—The Indivisible Project’s Co-Executive Director Leah Greenberg released the following statement:
“The contrast couldn’t be more jarring. Today, we saw the cowardice of Republican men, who effectively put Dr. Blasey Ford on trial while being too afraid to even speak for themselves, alongside Dr. Blasey Ford’s stunning bravery in telling her story. What more do senators need to see or hear? Kavanaugh’s confirmation cannot move forward.
“Dr. Christine Blasey Ford and other women have come forward to share their stories about this nominee despite great personal risk. We now need to be able to count on senators to follow their lead, be bold, and oppose Kavanaugh.
“We believe survivors, and all senators should, as well. The Senate must reject Kavanaugh and his nomination must be withdrawn.
“This nomination will only be withdrawn if there aren’t enough votes to confirm him. To that end, we need all senators to announce their opposition immediately. We especially need all Democrats to announce their opposition – this way we can focus the pressure on Republicans who remain on the fence.”
