As Congress Re-opens, Indivisible Groups Rally for H.R. 1
Washington, DC—Today, Indivisible groups are holding their first demonstrations of the year at the district offices of Members of Congress, calling for their strong support for the democracy reform bill, H.R. 1.
After helping build the “blue wave” that put Democrats in control of the House of Representatives, Indivisible groups will now tell their representatives to co-sponsor and pass H.R. 1 without watering it down or breaking it up.
“The Indivisible movement started organizing after Trump was elected, but it wasn’t about Trump — it was about saving American democracy,” said Ezra Levin, co-executive director of the Indivisible Project. “This past fall, we surveyed Indivisible group members directly and spoke with grassroots groups across the country to learn about their most urgent concerns. They identified democracy reforms as their top priority. Passing this bill is how Democrats can show they are listening to those who put them back in power in the House.”
