Washington, DC — This afternoon, in response to the Congressional Progressive Caucus's statement regarding President Biden's American Jobs Plan, Ann Clancy, Policy Manager for Indivisible, issued the following statement:
“Indivisible applauds the Congressional Progressive Caucus for their hard work and leadership in the fight to make the American Rescue Plan as bold and progressive as possible. As the CPC turns to Recovery, we echo their demands to go big on size, scope, and speed.
“It is clear that to usher in a true recovery for all, the size of the Recovery must be historic investing $1 trillion a year over the next decade.
“Furthermore, the scope of Recovery must cross all sectors of the economy in one package. We must not fall into the trap of bipartisanship, which we know will result in bad faith negotiations, delay tactics, and ultimately not work. Congress must be bold and push for one inclusive Recovery package.
“Finally, the Recovery package must be enacted with speed. People are in desperate need of Recovery now. This time around we do not have a natural deadline attached to the bill like we saw in Relief, so we must be clear-eyed and aggressive about passing a Recovery package before the end of the summer.”

ABOUT THE INDIVISIBLE PROJECT
The Indivisible Project (501c4) is a social movement non-profit driven by a vision of a real democracy - of, by, and for the people. Indivisible began in 2016 as a viral guide to resisting Trump’s agenda. Today, the Indivisible movement is a network of thousands of local groups and millions of activists across every state. The Indivisible Project drives campaigns for bold progressive policies, lobbies Congress, and equips activists with tools to build lasting progressive power, everywhere. Together, we fight to defeat the rightwing takeover of American government and build an inclusive democracy.
