Washington, DC — Today, Meagan Hatcher-Mays, Director of Democracy Policy for Indivisible, issued the following statement after the end of Judge Kentaji Brown Jackson’s confirmation hearings in the Senate Judiciary Committee:
“As the Senate moves closer to a floor vote to confirm Judge Ketanji Brown Jackson to the Supreme Court, two things are blatantly obvious: her qualifications are impeccable and despite that, Republicans are committed to making a fool of themselves. In the midst of their thoroughly disrespectful questioning of Judge Jackson, she nevertheless displayed her sharp intellect, patience, and commitment to the law. Instead of treating this nomination with the dignity and respect it deserved, Republicans pushed deranged QAnon conspiracy theories to try and score political points. It was hard to watch. But it won’t work. Indivisibles are even more confident that Ketanji Brown Jackson will be confirmed and make history. And that will be very exciting.”

The Indivisible Project (501c4) is a social movement non-profit driven by a vision of a real democracy - of, by, and for the people. Indivisible began in 2016 as a viral guide to resisting Trump’s agenda. Today, the Indivisible movement is a network of thousands of local groups and millions of activists across every state. The Indivisible Project drives campaigns for bold progressive policies, lobbies Congress, and equips activists with tools to build lasting progressive power, everywhere. Together, we fight to defeat the rightwing takeover of American government and build an inclusive democracy.
