Washington, DC — Indivisible celebrated another victory in the state of Georgia with the re-election of Senator Raphael Warnock:
“Senator Warnock’s victory is not only a testament to his leadership in the Senate and the grassroots power in Georgia – it is yet another indication that voters across urban, suburban, and rural Georgia will not back down in fighting for a pro-choice, pro-democracy future. Georgia Republicans have gone to great lengths to make voting harder, but in spite of these efforts, voters broke turnout records in a clear rejection of the MAGA extremist circus,” said Ezra Levin, co-founder and co-executive director of Indivisible. “Unlike his unqualified, incomprehensible MAGA extremist opponent, Senator Warnock has demonstrated an unshakeable commitment to reproductive freedom, reducing healthcare costs, protecting our democracy, and making education more affordable. He has resonated with voters in every corner and demographic of the state. To the people of Georgia–you all did the damn thing, and continue to inspire the entire country with your individual and collective power. We cannot celebrate or congratulate you enough.”
“Tonight, all of our eyes and hearts are in Georgia as we celebrate Senator Warnock’s decisive re-election. From from the suburbs of Atlanta to the rural southeast, Georgia Indivisible groups helped make this political moment possible through their record breaking advocacy and unshakeable belief in a democratic and pro-choice Georgia,” said Leah Greenberg, co-founder and co-executive director of Indivisible. “The people of Georgia deserve a qualified leader, one who can not only advocate for them in Congress but can represent them on the world stage. Herschel Walker would have been a reliable rubber stamp for the MAGA agenda in Congress – Republicans flexed all their muscles for Herschel because they knew he would serve as an unquestioning vote for MAGA Republican leadership. Despite Republicans’ desperate and slapdash efforts to push him across the finish line, Georgian voters held strong. In an election cycle defined by the rejection of MAGA extremism, this runoff win was a fitting closing. We are so honored to work with our activists across Georgia, and we are celebrating alongside them tonight. Thank you, Georgia.”
Indivisible activists across Georgia have been with Senator Warnock from the beginning. Indivisible Action and the Indivisible network across the country has been proud to back them up through the Give No Ground Project.
